WHAT WE DO

We are a responsible timber company which practice reduced impact logging and sustainable forest harvesting. Grand Timber aspires to help the State Forestry Department to improve forest density and forest yield by doing more reforestation.

Furthermore, the sustainable forestry solutions of Grand Timber helps to conserve the biodiversity of local forests and bring job opportunities to local communities.

Going forward, we expect to expand our operations by boosting our presence in neighbouring states such as Perak, Pahang and Kelantan.

Compliance with the rules and regulations is not adequate, we shall go extra mile to:

Honour the responsibility bestowed to us along with the right to use the forest land

Requite the benefits from the forest by enhancing the ecological productivity of the forest

Respect the rights of the indigenous people

Minimize the impact to the environment

WHAT WE DO

We are currently operating a forest plantation in Kedah, where we practice sustainable forestry. We don’t merely cut trees, we practice reduced impact logging, we practice sustainable forest harvesting, we replant trees, we help the State Forestry Department to improve on the forest density and yield in Kedah.

Going forward, we expect to boost our presence in other states in Malaysia, namely Perak and Kelantan, where we would promote, innovate and implement sustainable forestry solutions and help the local authority to conserve the biodiversity of the local forests.

A former senior official who had been serving in various capacities in the Kedah State Government since 1971 after completing his studies in the University of Malaya. Before joining the Masmeyer Group, Dato’ Tajudin was serving as the General Manager of the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) until his retirement in 2004.

The driving force of Masmeyer Group, which has successfully delivered property development projects with a total gross development value (GDV) exceeding RM 470 million in Kedah and Penang, Dato’ Choo was previously a Director of Drillsearch Energy Limited, an Australian listed company. Under his impressive leadership, Masmeyer Group has secured projects with a total GDV over RM 1 billion.

Dato’ Haji Abd Razak bin Hashim

A former Kedah State Assemblyman of Guar Chempedak until 2008, Dato’ Razak had previously served as the Kedah State Assembly Speaker and a State Executive Councillor (EXCO) Member. Dato’ Razak also holds directorships in several government-linked companies in Kedah.

Jac Kim Guan Chan

With extensive experience in the timber industry, Jac Chan is the key man handling the business development of Grand Timber (Malaysia). Jac is conversant with timber sales, Grand Timber operations as well as the regulations of timber industry. Through his previous involvement in the groundwork of timber logging and his past managerial experience, Jac is the most decent choice of person to head the business development department of Grand Timber (Malaysia).

Kim Wah Chan

Director of Operations

Mr. Chan Kim Wah is an entrepreneur who has vast experience in strategic planning, management as well as capital budgeting, which is accumulated in the course of his business ventures. Moreover, Mr. Chan also has strong technical knowledge in the field of financing and investment, which makes Mr. Chan the best choice of person to handle the operation and planning of Grand Timber (Malaysia), as the experience and knowledge of Mr. Chan is complementary to those of the key management of Grand Timber (Malaysia).
